They’re down to just one Canadian on Rock Star: Supernova.

Vancouver resident Jenny Galt was booted off the popular reality TV show Wednesday night, leaving Lukas Rossi of Toronto the only Canuck left to vie for the lead singing position in the new group called Supernova. “This sucks. Each week this gets way more difficult,” said Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee before adding: “Jenny, you gotta go.”

Galt described her experience on the show as “the best slap in the face” she’d ever had.

The hard rock band consists of Lee, former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted and Gun N’ Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke.

Toronto-born Rossi and singer Dilana Robichaux of Houston, Texas, had emerged as the apparent early frontrunners of the second season of popular reality TV show, hosted by former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Dave Navarro and model Brooke Burke.

Rossi - who sports heavy eye makeup, a skunk-like hairdo and an attitude - impressed the judges Tuesday night with a rendition of the Rolling Stones tune Let’s Spend The Night Together.

The Montreal-born Galt, described on the Rock Star website as a sly, girl-next-door type, sang the Incubus tune Drive, which Navarro called “too safe” a choice.

Galt, who plays piano and guitar, has toured Canada and Australia with her recently disbanded pop-rock group, Cherrybomb.

Rossi, who has said he grew up without much money and support from his family, has recorded, written, produced music for the past 15 years and collaborated with Tea Party and I Mother Earth.

The winner will record an album with Supernova and head out on a world tour in 2007.

Last season, Nova Scotia-raised J.D. Fortune emerged as the winner, gaining a spot as the front man for Australian band INXS. He’s since recorded a CD with the band and gone on a world tour.
